Lip Fillers & Lip Injections

Lip Fillers

Lip fillers and lip injections can be used to get you plumper, fuller lips. One of the most common procedures used to augment lips is the use of dermal fillers. There are many different types of dental fillers, but products that contain hyaluronic acid tend to be the most popular. The fact that it is a chemical that is naturally found in the body likely has something to do with that. Hydraulic acid helps to increase volume in the lips.  Lip augmentation is an effective way to improve the way a person’s lips look. Collagen fillers were once the most common option, but there are safer options nowadays that last longer. Implants and fat injections can also be used to plump a person’s lips, but they are not as popular, since they are more likely to have adverse side effects.  What to expect when getting lip fillers and injections  Lip augmentation procedures are normally performed at a doctor’s office. There is little or no recovery time required afterward. The only exception would be fat fillers, which require liposuction to remove the fat that will be used to fill the patient’s lips from another part of the body.  A numbing agent or topical anesthetic might be used prior to the injection to ease any discomfort. At times, nerve block injections are used to completely numb the person’s lips. The areas that are to be injected will be carefully marked, and fine needles are used to inject the substance into the person’s lips. Ice might be applied to the area after the injections are given to control any swelling and ease discomfort.  The patient will usually be advised to stay away from lip products like lipstick until their lips have healed from the treatment. Once the person’s lips are fully healed, they should feel the same way they normally do.  Get Your Complimentary Consultation Today! Unlock Your Path to Wellness: Book Your Free Consultation Now! Medspa Services: Fat Burning Injections and What They Can Do For You

medspa, Fat Burning Injections

When it comes to health and appearance, a medspa is a fantastic way to make some noticeable changes in your life. Everyone wants to feel good, be healthy and look great. One of the most significant areas of many people’s self-image that prevents happiness is having extra weight to carry around. Medical spa facilities offer several services to help clients reach a self-image they can be happy with, including weight loss.  What services are available at a medspa?  This growing industry offers many different services for clients to help them pursue individual health and beauty goals. Some of the most popular include:  What are the benefits of a fat burning injection?  A fat burning injection alone is not likely to cause weight loss. However, if it is used in conjunction with common practices for dropping weight, it can be greatly beneficial. These injections are effective in boosting energy and increasing metabolism. This treatment can also reduce water weight gain and help the body breakdown fat and carbohydrates. Injections can also be beneficial to a patient’s mental health by improving mood and helping with focus. The two main types of injections used in clinics today are vitamin B12 shots and lipotropic injections.  What is a vitamin B12 shot and what does it do?  Vitamin B12 is an important part of everyone’s health. When it is deficient, people’s metabolism decreases, energy notably diminishes and sleeplessness often occurs. A vitamin B12 shot addresses all of these issues. Since B12 is an essential element of a person’s energy supply, it increases energy and mood. This often leads to an increased willingness to exercise. B12 also helps metabolize fat. Getting a good night’s sleep also increases energy levels, and vitamin B12 aids in this as well.  What is a lipotropic injection and how is it different from a B12 shot? Lipotropic injections include B12 and reap all the benefits of that vitamin; however, these shots also include several other important ingredients. Choline is a nutrient that helps the body metabolize fat. Inositol helps improve insulin production and aids in fat metabolism. Methionine is an amino acid that also helps improve the body’s ability to metabolize efficiently. The combination of these ingredients creates a healthy environment in a patient’s body that is receptive to weight loss.  Conclusion Everyone cares about image and wants to look great. If weight loss and fat burning are a concern in your life, a medspa could be a beneficial treatment path to pursue.  Get Your Complimentary Consultation Today! MedSpa Treatments

A medical spa, or “medspa,” is a blend of a traditional day spa and a medical office. It is a place that people can go to get medical-grade treatments and procedures while enjoying a relaxing, spa-like atmosphere. For those who have never been to a medspa, it is good to know that every procedure is performed under the supervision of a doctor. For those who have never been to a medspa, it is good to know that every procedure is performed under the supervision of a doctor. Most often a dermatologist or plastic surgeon is the one supervising. Another great benefit is that most of these treatments have a short recovery time at just three to 18 months.  Types of medspa procedures  Medspas have many great filler treatment options to combat aging and skin damage. Here are some of the most popular:  1. Botox®  Many people are familiar with Botox® injections, as they are commonly used in cosmetic medicine. The treatment provides a number of benefits including reducing fine lines, minimizing wrinkles, tightening the skin and even reducing dental pain as a result of TMJ or bruxism.  2. Juvederm® fillers  Aside from Botox®, there are a number of other facial fillers that are offered at medspas. One popular option is Juvederm®, which is a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler. The medspa treatment is used to plump the skin while reducing fine lines and wrinkles that can cause sagging or loose skin in the facial area.  3. Voluma® fillers  Voluma® is another medspa injectable filler that is used to volumize the face, as it is referred to as a dense treatment option. As aging occurs, the face can shrink, which can result in a sunken-in appearance. Additionally, those that suffer from severe dental problems may require a certain type of filler to help fill the face out after jaw or bone loss. Voluma is often used for cheek or midfacial augmentation.  4. Dysport®  Dysport addresses frown lines in between the eyebrows, which often occur as a result of squinting or other stressors on the upper facial area. It is a prescription injectable that works temporarily to treat the lines. Medspas offer Dysport to individuals who are under the age of 65.  5. Restylane Lyft® and Kysse  Both Restylane Lyft® and Kysse are injectable fillers that are used in medspas to address fine lines around the face. Specifically, most people get it for their lips. Restylane Lyft® has larger hyaluronic acid gel particles than Kysse; however, they both offer similar results.  Get started with a medspa treatment  Not all medical spas and treatments are equal. Most of the procedures listed above are safe for most skin types and colors. That said, it is important to discuss your options with your regular physician or dermatologist. If you are still unsure about treatment, it is best to request a consultation. Any questions or concerns can be appropriately addressed, and an evaluation can be done.  Request an appointment here: unicornmedispa.com or call Unicorn Medical Weight Loss & Medi Spa at (702) 703-1777 for an appointment in our Las Vegas office. What Is Voluma?

Voluma®

Voluma® is a filler created by the company Allergan as a part of the Juvederm® filler collection. While the other five fillers by the company are designed to address wrinkles in the lower face or to enhance lips, Voluma® is the only filler dedicated to addressing the midface by plumping up the cheeks and both lifting and contouring the area. It is a thick gel made with hyaluronic acid that can be injected deep into the skin by a trained physician, such as a plastic surgeon or medspa doctor. For patients seeking fuller cheeks and a more youthful appearance, this filler is one potential noninvasive treatment option.  How does Voluma® work?  Juvederm Voluma® is made from a combination of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine. As the main active ingredient, the hyaluronic acid in the product is what plumps up the skin and helps remove wrinkles. While this acid is naturally produced by human skin cells and aids in moisture retention, levels drop over time, causing visible signs of aging. Injecting hyaluronic acid into the skin helps correct any creasing or sagging that has occurred. The main function of the lidocaine in the product is to act as a numbing agent that helps relieve pain during the procedure. This dermal filler is not a permanent solution but lasts up to two years before the treatment will need be repeated.  Is Voluma® safe?  While Voluma® is FDA-approved and generally regarded as safe, patients should be aware of potential risks associated with the treatment.  Potential candidates  To receive this type of dermal filler, the patient must be at least 21 years of age or older, but most patients who request this treatment are between 30 and 70 years old. It should only be administered by a healthcare professional or physician who is experienced and educated in facial anatomy and has received adequate training on using this product. Anyone who has a history of severe allergies, especially to Gram-positive bacterial proteins or lidocaine, should not use this filler. Additionally, patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding and on immunosuppressive therapy should consult with a doctor before receiving treatment.  Adverse effects  Patients should be aware of the potential side effects that can result from using this dermal filler. It is not uncommon for patients to notice swelling or bumps in their face along with some discoloration or bruising. After treatment, patients might also experience some pain in the area and possible itching. All filler treatments come with a risk of infection. Patients can experience adverse effects immediately after treatment or much later.  Conclusion  For qualifying candidates who are least 21 years old without a history of allergies, Voluma® can be used to help the individual achieve a more youthful appearance. By injecting hyaluronic acid into skin around the midface area, trained physicians can plump up and lift the cheeks while also contouring the surrounding cheekbones and jaw line. Patients interested in this type of treatment should consult with a doctor to determine if a dermal filler is for the right solution for their unique situation.  Get more information about Unicorn Medical Weight Loss & Medi Spa in Las Vegas at unicornmedispa.com Check out what others are saying about our services on Yelp and Google
